The Free Plans at a Glance

"DMs" and "contacts" aren't the same. A DM cap counts messages sent. A contact cap counts people, so one person who gets three messages uses one contact. Either way, every commenter on a keyword Reel uses at least one.

Missing: asking people to follow first, collecting emails or numbers, varied wording, pacing during a spike and follow-up steps. Best for: one link on one post, now and then.

The most generous free plan on volume: unlimited automations and DMs, ask-for-follow, a basic DM queue, basic analytics and an AI FAQ with up to 20 answers. Personalised DMs, follow-up flows, re-running old comments and email or phone collection need Pro, at $14.99 a month or $9.99 a month billed yearly.

Best for: creators whose Reels pull big comment numbers and who just need the link delivered.

3. LinkPlease

1,000 DMs and 1,000 contacts a month, with a wide feature set for a free plan: comment-to-DM, share-to-DM, DM keyword automation, Story and Live automation, ask for follow, re-trigger and its smart queue. Unlimited DMs, collecting user data and analytics need Pro, which is priced in rupees: ₹499 a month or ₹399 a month billed yearly.

Best for: Indian creators who want to test most features before paying.

4. SuperProfile

The free Starter plan includes unlimited auto-DMs on Reels and posts, ask-to-follow and email flows, and a link-in-bio store, but only 10 leads. Story, DM and Live automation, follow-ups and unlimited leads need the Creator plan: ₹499 a month in India, with the first month at ₹99, or $29 elsewhere.

Best for: sending a link from Reels when you don't need to collect emails yet.

5. LinkDM

One Instagram account and 1,000 DMs a month, with post and Reel automation, Story replies and mentions, next-post and next-Story automation, inbox conversation starters, share-to-inbox triggers and Facebook auto-replies. Free DMs carry LinkDM branding, and public comment replies, the follower growth tool and lead generation need Pro at $19 a month.

Best for: small accounts that also want Facebook replies.

6. CreatorFlow

One account, 500 automated DMs a month, comment-to-DM, Story reply automation, unlimited keyword triggers and ready-made templates. The email gate and follow gate need Pro at $15 a month ($12 yearly). When you hit the cap, automations pause until the next billing cycle.

Best for: trying comment-to-DM on a few posts.

7. InstantDM

500 DM automations a month on up to 5 posts, 3 trigger words, AI comment replies and one account, with no card needed. DMs carry InstantDM branding, and Story replies, DM keywords and the follow gate need Legend Pro at $12 a month (₹999 in India).

Best for: a first test on a handful of posts.

What Free Plans Usually Leave Out

• Branding. LinkDM, InstantDM and ManyChat add their name to free DMs.
• Pacing controls. Reply delays and hourly limits are often on paid plans only, and they matter most when a Reel takes off.
• Support. Free plans usually get self-serve help or slow email.

When Free Stops Making Sense

Say you post a Reel with "Comment GUIDE for the free PDF" and 1,500 people comment in the first week. On CreatorFlow or InstantDM the automation stops at 500. On LinkDM or LinkPlease it stops at 1,000, sooner if other posts used some of the month's allowance. ManyChat's free plan runs out after 25 people and Inrō's after 100. Zorcha keeps sending, and SuperProfile keeps sending the link but stops collecting leads after 10.

The people who comment after the cap don't get anything, and they often comment again or message to ask where the link is. If your Reels regularly pass a few hundred comments, a paid plan costs less than the goodwill you lose.
