HeyDM vs LinkDM in One Minute
LinkDM has been a Meta Business Partner since 2021 and says more than 60,000 creators use it. Its free plan is one of the better ones around: 1,000 DMs a month, comment-to-DM on posts and Reels, Story automations and Facebook DMs, on one Instagram account. Most of the extras people end up wanting sit on Pro, at $19 a month.
HeyDM has no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Its single plan costs $9.99 a month (₹419 in India) and includes the things LinkDM keeps for Pro: ask-to-follow, lead capture, follow-ups and public comment replies.
What LinkDM Pro Adds, and What It Costs
LinkDM Pro is $19 a month, or $182 a year (about $15.17 a month). On top of the free plan it adds public replies to comments, the Follower Growth Tool (ask to follow), Lead Gen, Reminder DMs, Universal Triggers, inbox automation, IG Live and ad auto-replies, Rewind for back-sending DMs, branding removal, up to 3 Instagram accounts and 25,000 DMs a month.
LinkDM Platinum+ is $99 a month, or $832 a year. It raises the limit to 300,000 DMs and 10 accounts, and adds a high-volume rate limiter and an overflow queue for DMs.
HeyDM is $9.99 a month, or $99 a year ($8.25 a month). In India it's ₹419 a month or ₹3,999 a year. One plan, with unlimited automations, DMs and contacts.
On the same billing, that's $9.99 against $19 a month, or $8.25 against about $15.17 a month on yearly plans.

Does the 25,000 DM Limit Matter?
For most creators, no. 25,000 DMs a month is roughly 830 a day. It starts to matter when one Reel pulls in thousands of comments, or when you spread three accounts across a single Pro plan. HeyDM doesn't cap DMs. The limits that apply are the ones you set in Smart Safe Mode and Instagram's own: 750 private replies an hour per account, according to Meta's documentation.
Where LinkDM Is Stronger

Where HeyDM Is Stronger
- The full toolkit for less. Ask-to-follow, lead capture, follow-ups and public comment replies come in the $9.99 plan. On LinkDM they need Pro at $19.
- Safety controls on the base plan. Smart Safe Mode gives you natural reply delays, first-DM timing, message pacing, an hourly reply limit and a reply cap per post. LinkDM's high-volume rate limiter is on Platinum+ ($99).
- AI message variations, so a thousand commenters don't all get the same sentence. LinkDM's pricing page doesn't list AI writing.
- No monthly DM cap.
- Rupee pricing and 24/7 WhatsApp support, which helps if you're in India.
Moving From LinkDM to HeyDM
- Note down each live automation in LinkDM: the post, the keyword and the DM.
- Start a HeyDM trial and connect Instagram through Instagram's own login. No Facebook Page is needed.
- Rebuild the automations on posts that still get comments. Older posts can be switched on too.
- Switch LinkDM off on those posts first, so nobody gets two DMs.
- Comment the keyword from a second account and check the DM arrives.
Our Take
If you're on LinkDM's free plan and it does what you need, stay there. The case for HeyDM starts when you're about to pay for Pro: for about half the price you get ask-to-follow, lead capture, follow-ups and built-in safety controls, with no monthly DM cap. If you need Facebook, Live or several accounts today, LinkDM Pro is the better fit for now.
