The Short Answer
Inrō (often typed "Inro") is an Instagram-only tool built around an AI agent. It answers DMs, comments and mentions in your brand voice, keeps every contact in a built-in CRM and inbox, and can send DM campaigns to segments of those contacts. It bills per activated contact: free up to 100 a month, then from €12.99 a month, rising with the number of people your automations reach.
HeyDM is narrower and flat. Comment-to-DM, Story and DM keyword automation, ask-to-follow, lead capture and follow-ups cost $9.99 a month, or ₹419 in India, however many people comment.
- Pick Inrō if you want an AI agent that holds the conversation and books calls, a CRM with tags and segments, DM campaigns, team seats or Make and Zapier integrations, and your monthly volume is modest.
- Pick HeyDM if you mainly send links, files and offers from comments and Stories, your Reels sometimes pull thousands of comments, and you'd rather pay a fixed price in rupees.
How Inrō Pricing Works
Inrō bills on "contact activations". A contact is activated the first time an automation, a DM campaign or the AI agent acts on them in a billing period, and counts once for that period however many messages follow. DMs you send by hand don't count, storing contacts in the CRM is free, and the count resets on your billing date.
- Free (€0): 100 activated contacts a month, 3 active automations, 3 DM campaigns a month, 50 AI agent credits and 1 user. Once you reach 100, automations stop reaching new people until the count resets.
- Pro, billed monthly (from €12.99): no cap; the price follows your activations. Inrō's own price calculator lists €12.99 for up to 500 contacts, €19.99 for 501–1,000, €29.99 for 1,001–1,500, €39.99 for 1,501–2,000, €79.99 for 4,001–5,000, €149.99 for 9,001–10,000 and €999.99 for 70,001–100,000. Pro includes the AI agent, up to 10 team members, integrations and a 14-day trial capped at 1,000 activations.
- Annual Pro (€1,249 a year): about €104 a month, capped at 10,000 activations a month. The €1,800 it's compared against is twelve months of the 9,001–10,000 tier, so the saving is real only if you activate that many people. For a smaller account, monthly Pro costs less.
- Managed account: done-for-you setup and strategy from €299 a month.
- HeyDM: $9.99 a month or $99 a year; in India, ₹419 a month or ₹3,999 a year. No contact counting, and a 14-day free trial.
What one good Reel costs
A fitness coach in Pune posts a Reel: "Comment PLAN and I'll send you the 4-week home workout." 1,800 people comment that month. On Inrō that's 1,800 activations, the 1,501–2,000 tier, so €39.99, about ₹4,270 at 17 October rates before any card fee. The next month is quiet, 300 commenters, and the bill drops back to €12.99 (about ₹1,390). On HeyDM both months cost ₹419.
Paying from India
Inrō prices in euros and takes payment through Stripe, so you need a card that works for international payments, and most Indian banks add a foreign-currency markup of around 2–3.5%. The rupee amount also moves with the exchange rate. HeyDM's Indian plan is billed in rupees.
Inrō's prices and plan features were checked on 17 October 2026 on inro.social/pricing and its contact-activation page. Rupee figures use €1 = ₹106.7, the rate on 17 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm before you decide.
Where Inrō Is Stronger
- An AI agent in your DMs on every plan (50 credits on Free, included on Pro). It answers questions, recommends products, qualifies leads and books calls. HeyDM's AI writes message variations; its AI Sales & Support Agent is still coming soon.
- A built-in inbox and CRM. Each contact is saved with the post and keyword they came from and anything they shared, with tags, segments and folders.
- DM campaigns: one-off broadcasts or multi-step sequences to a segment, with sent, read, clicked and replied tracking. Inrō says it enforces Meta's 24-hour messaging window, so ask how many of your contacts a campaign can actually reach.
- Integrations and team features on Pro: Make and Zapier, HTTP webhooks, a private API, payments in DMs, campaign scheduling and up to 10 team members.
- Triggers HeyDM doesn't list: Instagram Live comments on Pro (coming soon on HeyDM), plus ad comments and icebreakers.
- A free plan, plus EU data hosting and GDPR paperwork, which matters to European brands.
Where HeyDM Is Stronger
- The bill stays flat. No activation counting, so a viral month costs the same as a quiet one.
- Lower price at any volume. On monthly billing, $9.99 against €12.99 (about $14.60) at Inrō's lowest Pro tier. At 2,000 commenters a month it's ₹419 against about ₹4,270.
- A yearly plan for small accounts: $99 or ₹3,999 a year. Inrō's only annual plan is €1,249.
- Billed in rupees in India, with no forex markup.
- Smart Safe Mode controls you set yourself: natural reply delays, a first-DM wait of up to 60 minutes, message pacing, an hourly reply limit and a reply cap per post. Inrō says pacing is built in on every plan.
- 24/7 WhatsApp and email support. Inrō offers chat and email, with a one-business-day response time on Pro and three on Free.
Switching From Inrō
- List your active automations and export or note any leads you need before you cancel. Instagram's API doesn't let any tool import contacts from another, so a new contact list builds as people comment.
- Start the 14-day HeyDM trial and connect your Instagram professional account through Instagram's own login.
- Recreate the comment and Story automations on posts that still get comments, and switch on older posts worth reviving.
- Turn each automation off in Inrō before HeyDM's goes live, so nobody gets two DMs.
- Test from a second account before you announce a keyword.
Our Take
Inrō is the stronger product if you want AI to hold sales conversations and a CRM to work your list, and at a few hundred contacts a month it's affordable. Once your Reels regularly reach thousands of people, its metered price climbs fast, and that's where a flat tool makes sense. If your automations mostly deliver a link, a file or an offer, HeyDM does that for ₹419 a month whatever the month brings.
